Japan

Japan is a country in East Asia consisting of thousands of islands that stretch over 3000 km. Its five main islands are Honshu, Hokkaido, Shikoku, Kyushu and Okinawa, and much of the land is covered in forest. Some of its wildlife species include the Japanese macaque, the Japanese giant salamander and the Japanese raccoon dog. The biggest industries are agriculture, manufacturing, fishing and tourism. Japan’s climate is mostly continental; however, there is great variation from north to south, and the country is a well-known skiing and snowboarding destination.
