Germany

Germany is located in Central Europe and covers almost 360,000 sq. km. The land area is broadly divided into three main regions: the fertile North German Plain, the Central Uplands and the Bavarian Alps and Plateau. The north-east consists of farms and forest and the uplands support vineyards. The Zugspitze is Germany's highest mountain.

The climate is mainly temperate with prevailing westerlies. Eastern and southern winters are colder with clear weather and high snowfall. Summer temperatures reach 20°C but sub-zero temperatures are common in January.
